Silage Cover
Silage cover is the most fundamental formula for profitability in livestock farming. It’s about maximizing animal productivity while keeping input costs under control. In meeting the roughage needs, which constitute the largest expense of a business, silage undoubtedly plays the most strategic role.
In the challenging process that begins after the harvest of corn, grass, or other forage crops, tons of feed need to be stored for months without spoiling. This is where silage covers, housed in above-ground plastic greenhouses, come into play as protectors of the labor and capital invested.
Don't let the weather ruin your hard work!
Product Information
Description
The fermentation process, which is the formation of silage, takes place in a completely oxygen-free (anaerobic) environment. Exposure of the silage pile to air leads to aerobic spoilage, heating, loss of nutritional value, and, worst of all, the formation of toxins (mold fungi) that threaten animal health. The only way to eliminate these risks is to use a high-tech, professionally manufactured silage cover that completely isolates the pile from the external environment.
Silage Cover Nylon is Not Ordinary Plastic
Ordinary construction plastic sheeting or covers made from recycled materials available on the market do not provide the protection silage needs. Mirza Tarım’s silage cover plastic sheeting minimizes gas permeability thanks to its multi-layer (Co-Ex) production technology. This special structure prevents oxygen from entering from the outside while maintaining the carbon dioxide balance inside.
The most prominent feature of a high-quality silage film is its UV (Ultraviolet) resistance. Our covers, reinforced with special additives to withstand the scorching effects of the sun, do not become brittle, disintegrate, or lose their elasticity even after months of sun exposure. This flexible structure resists the stresses that occur during the settling of the silage pile, preventing punctures and tears.
Silage Cover Prices
One of the most important factors producers research during the purchasing process is naturally the price of silage cover. However, the biggest mistake here is viewing the cover cost as an “expense.” In reality, choosing a high-quality cover means you’ll have an investment that saves tons of feed, not an expense.
